Talk about the find of the year! Chestnut Hill College, a mere 2.5 miles from my apartment, has a pool. They open it to the public from 9-10.30 on Monday and Wednesday nights, 7-8 a.m. on Wednesdays and 12-5 on Saturdays and Sundays. Apparently nobody knows this! Tonight it was just me and a couple of sweet old ladies. They were finishing up water aerobics as I came in to do laps. What a TREASURE, all for a mere 3$ a swim. So if I go twice a week (which is my plan on Mon & Weds evenings) for a bargain price of $24 a month (which I easily spend on one meal and a beer plus tip) I get a full body work out. Philadelphia Sports Club can take their over crowded, overcharged, half pool (at $65 a month)and STICK IT! Woo Hoo! I can not tell you the joy in my heart and the tired smile on my face. In the spring, summer, and fall I can ride my big pink bike up the Hill, get my swim on and coast home for tea and a good night's sleep. Oh, the joy of simple things.
