New day

I'm all dressed up for Halloween today even though we got a foot of snow on Saturday! Luckily we still have power, but I did not go to the gym all weekend. I think once I take my test Saturday I will feel more energized to get up and work out. This studying saps all my energy. I am eating well, I've cut down on my portion size, there is no reason to be eating as much as Brian. Hopefully that helps some since I'm not working out.
I hope everyone's feeling good and up to Weigh-in number 2 tomorrow! I will post stats when I get everyone's info.
TL - are you planning on weighing in tomorrow even though initial weigh-in was saturday? just checking, if you wanted to start stats next tuesday, that's probably fine.

Hi all!
Weighed in early because I'm traveling this week - no change after being down 2 lbs all week and weekend. booooo!!

I haven't exercised since the 5k, which has been over a week ago :-O I am traveling by myself this week... and I find I do way better when I travel by myself. Sneakers and workout clothes are packed, and I'm planning on grabbing a bag of salad and rotisserie chicken to keep in the fridge at work for salads for lunch.

I made a plan!

I'm trying something new. I weighed myself on Saturday - and I was right - I'm at 180. ugh. However, I do not despair. As a matter of fact that number disgusts me so much I have a new resolve. I WILL NOT BE THE FAT GIRL. As a result, I sat my fat ass down yesterday and made a eating plan for the week. Then I rolled my pudgy self to the grocery store and only bought what was on the list. I've never tried this. I am hoping that a well stocked  and healthy pantry combined with no more guessing what's for dinner will result in the release from quick usually unhealthy meal decisions.

then I went to the gym.

late but in

I will weigh in next week! but unofficially I know I'll be clocking in at a whopping 180. I haven't run on over a month and am afraid to try. I'm a long way from the marathon I ran this time last year.

Feeling better

I am feeling much better, I am definitely planning on going to the gym this weekend. I can finally walk again without wincing after the brutal P90X workout Tues morning.
I had an apple with peanut butter and a stonyfield yogurt smoothie drink for breakfast. I want to eat yogurt becuase I think it will help, so I bought these little smoothie drinks, but they definitely have too much sugar, I won't buy them again. I also bought a new kind of oatmeal, but it was disgusting. Kashi Go Lean very vanilla or something like that.
I am definitely doing better with snacking, but that's becuase Brian went grocery shopping and bought peppers, carrots and snap peas for me. I do want to start buying more frozen veggies, since the fresh ones are not really in season anymore.
Hope everyone's doing well! Ready for the storm this weekend? I know we're going to get some snow here, we had some last night. Crazy.

I gave Sarah my starting weight. 174. *sigh* But I'm still only 5 months post partum. I'll cut myself a little slack. The problem with having a 5 month old and working full time is that YOU HAVE NO TIME. After our nighttime routine and Harper is in bed, the last thing I want to do at 8PM or 8:30PM is work out. And waking up earlier is a tough option when you have a baby that may or may not sleep through the night. I know, all excuses. And we all have a nasty case of the snotties in my house (thank you daycare). We have P90X or PX90 at home, even if I do it a few times a week and buckle down on the eating, I'll get there. I'd like to lose about 25 pounds. Not in 8 weeks, but that's my longer term goal. I think I'm going to use the LoseIt app to track my food, unless anybody has other suggestions that they have used and like.

Small Setback

So Brian and I got up on Tues morning and did P90X - wow did that kick my butt. I am still ridiculously sore. Unfortunately, I had woken up Tues morning with a little sore throat and worked out anyway. Well, the sore throat got worse throughout the day and I left work a little early Tues afternoon and slept in yesterday and didn't got to work or work out. I do feel much better today and will probably be getting back to P90X over the weekend or at least the gym.
So everyone's given me their start weight except TL - Are you out there? Are you still interested in the contest?

Feeling Better Already...

Hi Everyone!!
I'm going on a cruise, leaving on 12/24 (yay!) and I REFUSE to feel uncomfortable while I'm there. I really want to enjoy myself, not worry about how terrible I look in a bathing suit. I wore a bikini ONCE this summer and felt so gross. I wore shorts over it and jumped in the water immediately so no one would see me. I do NOT want to feel that way while on the cruise.
I was doing well, had lost 5 lbs in the past couple of weeks, then last weekend happened. Dan's birthday dinners and lots of food, beer, and unhealthy snacking. Plus I ran the 5k on Sunday so I totally binged afterwards, thinking I "deserved" it, although all it did was make me feel like crap.
So I gained 4 of the 5 lbs back just this past weekend (if that's possible). I am just starting to feel better today, considering my binge from Sunday carried on Monday and Tuesday.... I cleaned out my fridge and pantry and got rid of all the crap.
My goal is to lose 16 lbs by the end of the contest. At that point I will be at a comfortable weight and not be totally embarrassed on the cruise.
Looking forward to getting focused and back on track!

Does this.mean I can't email everyone a million times a day??

Hello Everyone!

Hi guys! Hope everyone is doing well! Haven't been on the blog in a while but Sarah told me you were starting the contest again so I figured I'd check in. I can't commit to the contest because of all the craziness I have going on right now but I do need some support and motivation to get back to the gym, and hopefully I can help support you guys in the contest. Between the new house and 2 puppies I've acquired this year and the Master's classes I've been taking I haven't been to the gym in months and feel pretty gross.

At least I am off to a good start to the week since I did 30 min on the elliptical yesterday and am heading to the gym in a few minutes to do some weights...I'll be sore tomorrow! I weighed myself this morning so my starting weight is 125.6. Not bad but up a few pounds from what I was a couple weeks ago. A little too much beer and bar type food lately so I definitely gotta watch what I'm eating and drinking for sure. My main goal is to just feel healthy again because right now I feel like I have no energy or endurance and get winded way more quickly than I used to - which is super embarrassing!

Day 1

136.5 - not horrible, but not great.
P90X this morning with Brian was a killer.
I'm planning on hardboiling eggs tonight since I find when I eat those for breakfast, I feel full, and I need to stop snacking on the crap in the office. I bought some no salt added soups to try as well for lunch, but today I have leftover chili.
Let's all make healthy choices for ourselves and feel better!

Quick update - Brian's sister Nicole is not going to do the contest, but she'll follow the blog and hopefully get some inspiration.

My goal is to get back to 140, where I was when I finished the last contest from work.  I don't expect to do much more unless things ease up around here and that doesn't appear to be in the very near future.  I'll take the 6 lbs for 20 bucks. And my true focus will come once things are settled.  As far as the rest of you, GIVE IT HELL!!!!   :-)

My weekend

Hello and I hope everyone is ready for the weigh-in tomorrow! I weighed myself this morning so I would know what I was in for tomorrow morning. Not pretty but I have a goal!
Brian and I are starting P90X tomorrow. We should have done Day 1 today, but we were super tired last night, so Day 2 is tomorrow. He's really concerned about me bulking up. He doesn't seem to understand that unless I start taking testosterone, I'm not going to get huge muscles, just burn fat.
I'll let you know how it goes! I know I am pretty bad shape cardiovascularly right now, I'll be sucking wind tomorrow.

Hi all!
This weekend was terrible for eating and drinking.... Dan's birthday celebration(s), Friday and Saturday night. But I still managed to run my first 5k on Sunday... yay! I feel super motivated to keep running, do another, and beat my time. Maybe a 10k one day ;)
Looking forward to starting this up again... I really need it! The timing is perfect- Dan and I are leaving for a cruise on Christmas Eve, so I need to drop quite a few lbs!!!

Final weigh-in for round 1: 12/20/2011 (don't gorge yourself at X-mas and undo all the hard work we're going to do for the next 8 weeks)
